UWA, NGO sign deal to boost tourism in Uganda

Yesterday, the long awaited deal was finally signed by both Lilly Ajarova, the Executive Director of Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust and Andrew Sseguya, the Executive director, the Executive Director of Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).The signing of the memorandum of Understanding  was done at Lake Victoria Hotel in Entebbe.

This was one the key achievements the Uganda tourism industry was waiting for since it will help to bring the various organs of the sector to work together in  bid to promote development. The memorandum of Understanding will see these two organs work together and also train their stuff together. It will smooth the various activities in both parties and enhance prosperity.

Seguya said that protection of the forests is one of the key issues that must be encouraged in this era if  Uganda is to continue benefiting from the tourism sector. This is because wild animals live in these forests and once they are destroyed, these animals will perish. He therefore urge The Chimpanzee Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT)
body to come and work together with UWA since they share a common goal.

The main objective of this deal signed is to create awareness among the community so that the tourism sector is handled in an efficient and effective manner.

Lilly Ajarova, the Executive Director of Chimpanzee Sanctuary also welcomed the partnership saying that it will promote the conservation of chimpanzees and the environment. She said that there is more need by the government to secure more land for the wild animals since tourism is the leading revenue source to this East African country.

Uganda is one of the leading destinations for chimpanzee trekking and many visitors from different parts of the world come to look a
t these human-like apes. However, for the past few years the primates have been under threat due to the increased deforestation that has left their homes destroyed. It is this that the government and various NGO's set up some chimpanzee sanctuaries to make sure that these magnificent primates don't perish.

I know if you have never traveled to Uganda and Rwanda you cant believe this but once you take your first step in any of these East African countries, you will be amazed by what you will see. It is not all about going the the national parks to view the wild animals, but in any part of Uganda and Rwanda, you can have a wonderful moment.

Uganda has about 10 national park which you can visit and get a chance of seeing some of the rare wild animals in their natural habitats.Rwanda has 3 national parks which are easily accessed on a safari tour. While in the parks, you will get a chance of viewing different wild animals including the lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, gorillas, baboons, crocodiles, red-tailed monkeys, giraffes, zebras, elands, snakes, and many more. These animals are easily see on a game drive especially during the afternoon hours because they come out of the forests and gather around the different water bodies to sip some water.

Get a chance to stand where the founder of this river.John Speke stood while on his exploration trip to Uganda with an aim of finding where this great river originates from.Take clear photographs while at the site with some of the beautiful objects.

Experience while Rafting
I will share with you what I experienced on my first rafting trip on the source of the Nile.
At first I didn't know where this wonderful place (source of the Nile) was located and how it looked like but to my surprise,I found the it was so magnificent with hard-to find nature attributes like the green highlands,nice-looking water which continuously flows, rare bird species, splendid rocks,John Speke monument and many more.

It was around mid-day when I went   whitewater. At first i was so scared to sail in a boat through rapids and rocks but I was convinced by the guide that I wont regret after the trip. When our rafting boat had just set off,my heart was filled of fear until when i got used.We penetrated through huge rocks on a high speed which I had no imagined. The rapids kept on colliding with our boat as we struggled to keep it on the right track. The sounds of the water were so high that i could not even hear any sound of the many birds which kept on flying over the sky.I reached a point of no return and now my heart was stronger than before. We kept on rafting until when we reached a point with calm water.
Believe me,I had to as for another rafting safari from the guides because of the adventure that I experienced while in the middle of huge rocks facing the rapids of the river. It is an experience that I have never forgotten and I wish everyday was like that day.

I know you may not have experienced this adventure yet and you are wondering how you can make a whitewater Rafting Safari to Uganda. It is simple, just inquire with us and we shall draw a suitable itinerary which will clearly indicate your safari movements in Uganda.
